Party Platter Game Night Craft #2

I wanted to show you guys how to use something you already have and  customize it to fit you theme.

If you have any clear glass or plastic serving platter, you can transform it to look like it was custom designed to fit the theme of your party.
Here's what I used to fit my game night theme.

Glass serving platter
deck of  cards
tape
clear contact paper
pen
scissors

So I had this glass serving platter. I didn't want to destroy it but i wanted something to make it fit my game theme. Anything you decide to a platter should not affect the food that you will be serving on it.  That eliminates doing something to the top but its see through, right? Food wont be touching underneath. I turned platter upside down and spread out a deck of cards evenly .(This took some time.) Use tape to make sure cards don't move once you've got them where you want them.

Next, use pen to trace outline of platter on contact paper.  Cut the circle out. You want to make sure that when you place contact paper it will over lap cards but not extend past the edges of platter.

Peel back of contact paper and apply starting in the center of platter since that is the main area that you will see that won't be covered with cards.  Smooth around and trim if necessary. Turn platter over and voila!
A cool game night themed serving dish.

Keep in mind that I used cards for my platter because of my theme.  You can use anything that you can print out or that is flat and use same technique.

Some examples for a baby sex reveal at a shower. Print out "Its a Boy" and place in the center to be seen after the cake is cut.

Print out a provocative picture for an adult party like a lady in the cake? etc......you get the picture?

One other thing, if you don't mind permanently transforming your platter and there is a big enough ridge on the under side of your platter, you can use  resin to seal in what you've placed on the underside of your platter and reuse it again and again.
